I keep getting this in my error file: 2004-09-24 15:46:02 [---] Can't resolve hostname climateapps2.oucs.ox.ac.uk (host not found or server failure) 2004-09-24 15:46:02 [climateprediction.net] scheduler init_op_project to http://climateapps2.oucs.ox.ac.uk/cpdnboinc_cgi/cgi failed, error -113 2004-09-24 15:46:02 [climateprediction.net] Deferring communication with project for 1 minutes and 0 seconds 2004-09-24 19:29:03 [Predictor@home] scheduler init_op_project to http://predictor.scripps.edu/predictor_cgi/cgi failed, error -113 2004-09-24 19:29:03 [Predictor@home] init_op_project failed, error -113 Now you need not answer about Predictor@home, yet I imagine this is the same order as climateprediction.net. If I look at my machine's data, it says: Last time contacted server 23 Sep 2004 21:39:47 UTC It used to trickle faster than that. |

Error -113 is a gethostbyname() failure, and the additional information you're getting would seem to suggest a firewall or routing problem. <a href="http://www.teampicard.net"><img src="http://www.teampicard.net/templates/fisubice/images/phpbb2_logo.jpg"></a><a href="http://climateapps2.oucs.ox.ac.uk/cpdnboinc/team_display.php?teamid=3">Join us here</a> |

Found on a friend's P4 3.0, WinXP-SP2 -- but posted here because this is where the "Search" function for -113 steered me. Following normal connect-operations for Trickles, this message appeared 5 times for this occurrence, then successful connection & the machine returned to normal operation after that. No human intervention. (This is the fifth of the five -113 messages.) climateprediction.net - 2005-03-08 09:05:20 - Sending request to scheduler: http://climateapps2.oucs.ox.ac.uk/cpdnboinc_cgi/cgi --- - 2005-03-08 09:05:20 - Can't resolve hostname climateapps2.oucs.ox.ac.uk (valid name, no data record of requested type) climateprediction.net - 2005-03-08 09:05:20 - scheduler init_op_project to http://climateapps2.oucs.ox.ac.uk/cpdnboinc_cgi/cgi failed, error -113 climateprediction.net - 2005-03-08 09:05:20 - Deferring communication with project for 2 minutes and 12 seconds climateprediction.net - 2005-03-08 09:07:32 - Sending request to scheduler: http://climateapps2.oucs.ox.ac.uk/cpdnboinc_cgi/cgi climateprediction.net - 2005-03-08 09:07:35 - Scheduler RPC to http://climateapps2.oucs.ox.ac.uk/cpdnboinc_cgi/cgi succeeded Jim "We have met the enemy and he is us." -- Pogo Greetings from coastal Washington state, the scenic US Pacific Northwest. |

No human intervention. I'd suspect a temporary routing problem at an ISP somewhere between your friend's system and Oxford Jim.
