I can\'t get the screensaver to work on my system. When I try to \"show graphics\", a small window opens behind the GUI with the name of the WU in progress, but then my monitor goes blank, and enters standy mode. At first I thought it crashed my system as well, but apparently all it does is kill my video output. Although it\'s as good as crashing my system, as the only way to get my monitor back is to reset my system. Relevant info: AMD FX-53 Win XP Pro SP1 Radeon x800 Pro |

Thanks for the reply Endevour, but the x800 is ATI's latest high performance video card, so it should be more than capable of dealing with anything the screensaver throws at it. |

Have you by chance installed the Ati 4.9 Beta Catalysts (to "test out" Doom 3)?? If so, that might be your problem. Else update your videocard drivers from http://www.ati.com/support/driver.html Make sure you uninstall your present drivers & Ati control panel before you install the new ones. Else leave some more details, Heffy. :D -------------------- Jordâ„¢ |

Thanks Jord. No, I'm running the 4.5 <a href="http://www.omegadrivers.net/">Omega</a> drivers. What more details do you want? The screensaver worked fine with S@H. |

> I guess none of the programmers have any ideas either? :( I'm afraid it sounds like a specific hardware or driver problem, as I've never seen this problem before or heard about it. |

I guess I'm stuck with no visualization joy. Any other method of getting details about just what my PC is up to with these WUs? |

You can checkout your trickles on the stats pages for ongoing text information every few hours. You can also use Martin Sykes' CPview add-on from a machine running CPDN classic to view files in the CP-boinc dataout directory too but you can't get 'realtime' information as yet. <a href="http://www.nmvs.dsl.pipex.com/"><img src="http://boinc.mundayweb.com/cpdn/stats.php?userID=6&team=off&trans=off"></a> |

> Do you know which files CPView use? Try looking at the http://www.users.globalnet.co.uk/~sykesm/cpview.html web page for CPView. Additionally this http://www.climateprediction.net/board/viewtopic.php?t=2127 web page explains how to use the CPDN Classic version of CPView. Of course, this does not apply to the CPDN BOINC Beta! <img src="http://boinc.mundayweb.com/cpdn/stats.php?userID=11"> <i> UK4CP @ www.uk4cp.co.uk (United Kingdom Group) Celeron 2.6GHz XP Pro SP1 768MB RAM<i> |

> Do you know which files CPView use? <img src="http://www.users.globalnet.co.uk/~sykesm/img/CPView/CPViewLatestVersion.jpg"> Just about anything from the dataout directory ( buried down in the projects directory somewhere under boinc ) Be warned though, the files saved by CPDN are monthly or seasonal averages so they won't have any useful data until you've completed at least 1 month or 3 months of your model depending on the file. They work best when you've got at least a year of data. |

Thanks guys! :-) I had seen the trickles, but wanted more info. CPView doesn't even attempt to run. It gives me an error that says "REGDB_E_CLASSNOTREG" and then a send/don't send window. <a><img src="http://boinc.mundayweb.com/cpdn/stats.php?userID=18"></a> |

Give me a mo and I'll do a new version which will run without it. [EDIT] - Try downloading a new version. It should work for boinc users who don't have the old CPDN installed. You still can't look at the live data, but you can look at your saved files. |

Did you test the normal 4.7 (4.8 probably by now?) Catalysts? If you did and it didn't matter much, maybe it's something to do with the BOINC 4.02 files (or the fact it is 4.02 but due to Carl's typo it's 4.03 ;)), in which case you could ask the alpha testers about this. If you aren't one yourself. -------------------- Jordâ„¢ <img src="http://boinc.mundayweb.com/cpdn/stats.php?userID=2&trans=off"> |

Did > you test the normal 4.7 (4.8 probably by now?) Catalysts? Yes, it worked fine with 3.xx. No, I haven't tried the ATI drivers yet. That's the next step, just haven't gotten around to it yet. ;-) <a><img src="http://boinc.mundayweb.com/cpdn/stats.php?userID=18"></a> |
