It seems like there's been a lot of timed out tasks lately. Not sure if it's normal and I just haven't noticed before.

It's been like that for a while. The timeout used to be set to something like a year, which was a hangover from the old days of the muti-year climate runs. That was changed last year to be more representative of the batches are run now. I'd have to check but I think it's 35 days to start a task and then another 60 days to finish? (something like that).

The problem CPDN had was a significant number of hosts were downloading stupidly large numbers of tasks that were never going to finish in a reasonable amount of time.

Fairly normal. Especially for older computers that have long periods turned off or don't compute while computer is in use.
