Every time I connect, I get this message: \"Predictor@home - 2004-09-30 17:38:18 - Message from server: To participate in this project, you must use major version 3 of the BOINC core client. Your core client is major version 4.\" The message seems clear enough, and I am running Beta 4.09, but the version available for download at your site is 4.09! Does this mean no-one can connect? Or is it just me? |

Predictor@home is a seperate project that has not updated to the 4.xx versions yet. My advice is to use the latest client of all the projects you are attached to. The projects that are behind will catch up eventually. <br>John Keck -- BOINCing since 2002/12/08 -- <a href="http://www.boinc.dk/index.php?page=user_statistics&project=cpdn&userid=191"><img border="0" height="80" src="http://191.cpdn.sig.boinc.dk?188"></a> |

I think a slight clarification here might be useful. The Predictor project is down at the moment, while they port their software to Version 4 of BOINC. They are not issuing work units (WU's) regardless of the client software you are running. It won't do any harm to keep your client attached to the Predictor project, when Predictor does move to BOINC V.4 then your client will then automatically pick up WU's for you for this project. This may not be that far away, as I know that an Alpha test of the Predictor V4 software is due to start in the very near future. Also, Predictor is one of the better BOINC projects for keeping us informed of bugs and updates, keep an eye on the 'Current Progess' section of the Predictor web site for curent news on the project. |

I liked a comment on the Predictor board. Something to the effect of, put a notice on the front page that the project is being held up by Dell, and give Dell a link. ;) <a href="http://www.boinc.dk/index.php?page=user_statistics&project=cpdn&userid=355"><img border="0" height="80" src="http://355.cpdn.sig.boinc.dk?188"></a> |
