With respect to the thread title, it was given before the extent of the the issues was known.

Oh no, I was following the forum on boinc and it was directly clear that this was a major problem not a website change.

This has been planned for months and the people who run CPDN have been doing so for a long time. This is absolutely not about management "rushing".
While I can't say if https://climateprediction.net had any message about the upcoming changes and can't check since the old pages are now gone, at least on the BOINC side where was no forum messages telling about upcoming outage and no notice in BOINC to tell about upcoming outage.

For a "planned for months" multi-day outage, I would expect a BOINC notice and possibly a forum post posted example Monday 09. September that said something along the lines of:
"On Friday 13. September 2024 at 14:00 UTC Climateprediction.net will start on a planned outage that is expected to last until Monday 16. September, but can take longer.
During the outage you can't report trickles, finished models, ask for more work, access forums or any of the other web-pages.
After the outage Climateprediction.net will have changed to CPDN.org and BOINC pages will have switched from www.cpdn.org to main.cpdn.org."

Instead, very unexpectedly on Friday 13. September BOINC client failed scheduler requests to Climateprediction.net and trying to open-up any of the pages to see if this is a local or more global problem just had none of the Climateprediction.net or www.cpdn.org pages working at all. Since other web-pages did work, it indicated unexpected Climateprediction.net problems with no idea on why things don't work and no indication time it would be fixed.

Things not going as planned during a planned outage isn't the problem, it's the lack of pre-outage warning that is the main problem since this means from users point-of-view this definitely was unexpected outage.

Very well said.
And the title of this thread is wrong, it's not about the change of a website but a collapse of the project.
If the project management don't understand how the platform they are using, boinc, works, then what's the point?

That the originals errored out with 0 run time and your running ones have produced a first zip suggests a problem with the original computer rather than the tasks.

No, read more carefully please---"timed out - no respons"
Today is the deadline for that batch, 2 months

It's a new app 1.13
Yesterday a small batch 1016, the same size and speed as before, ran fine on my little box.
Today a bigger batch 1017 now for 20 days instead of 15 and deadline of just 1 month.

There will be a new batch going out in the next few days for the New Zealand 25km configuration (nz25). There will be a subsequent batch afterwards, but not soon due to storage constraints.

Oh, just got 3 resends from batch 1005 with app 8.24
Shall I keep them?

Yeah, a new thread on core speed, s/TS, versus watts used on different chips would be fun to see.
Don't think my little undervolted AMD 5600G 6-core with only 16 Mb L3-cache is so bad against the bigger ones.
With 5 cores using 130W it takes around 7 days for wah2 8.29 or 4.37 kWh/task
Running 2-3-4 cores is faster but not much.

Hi!
A new one turned up on the server status page: OpenIFS 43r3 Multi-core Linear grid tl159 l91
Multi-core sounds very interesting, how many cores? is it going well on testing?

It was a mistake trying this again, see if I'll bother uploading my 30-40 results, other things need my bandwith
