Is there any reason these will not run together on a hyperthreaded computer? I tried on two computers and Boinc seized and would not do either.

No, they are all running fine on my 13 boxes ( 2 = hyperthreading) . The only thing the last days is, that LHC doesn't have work. Oh, I'm running boinc under windows ...

Supporting BOINC, because it is really a great concept !

This sounds suspiciously like the single-slot/GUI-freeze issue. If LHC doesn't have work to provide your client, the GUI will lock up while the one slot is idle. It IS processing the CPDN work unit, so just leave it be. As soon as LHC can supply work, the GUI will free up and become responsive again. This is a known issue and hopefully newer GUI clients will offer relief from this behaviour.

I had this issue also, but the 2nd instance downloaded cpdn. The BOINC GUI was frozen until all the downloads had been completed and the 2nd instance was running again. One way around it is to re-boot and disable HT in bios then re-boot. Only problem is that when work becomes available again you have to do the reverse - rather painful really. But now I have 2 cpdn wu's BOINC is a happy little vegimite and will be for a long-long time (I hope)!
