Hi-ho, I am almost positive that at one point when I was looking at the graphics view (\"Show Grapics\" on the Work page) that the globe in the view was rotating. Since then (about a month ago) I\'ve never seen a rotating globe - it\'s rendered with western Africa at the centre. Was I hallucinating? Is the globe supposed to rotate or not? regards, Rob |

Ah, I see from other postings that the graphics view is interactive. Problem solved. regards, Rob |

Mostly when I look at the globe, which isn't often, it is stationary. Now and then though, I have noticed that all the borders of countries are "sparkly". This worried me the first time, but it turned out to be caused by the borders being continually redrawn as the globe slowly rotated. It does it by itself. I think it may be related to the current phase, but I haven't bothered to make notes. It probably uses up even more cpu time than the stationary globe. And, of course, I can "click and drag" to turn it. But I don't bother. Just checked. Neither are self-spinning at present. Les |

Les: If you grab a 'sparkly' globe with your mouse pointer, turn it a little in the North~South direction and then let go, it should stop 'sparkling' - you're correct BTW, it uses less CPU whilst stationary but, it also depends on the age of your graphics card, some 'oldies' use close to 100% of the CPU whenever the graphics are running. Distributed Mania |
