Hmmm...still FUBAR, any update on fix? Oh and any new post starts at 32 minutes since last post. Paul (S@H1 8888) BOINC/SAH BETA |

What happens now is that a computer gets RACs & total credit as before, any "extra credit" by mistake will get corrected within the 2 hour recalculation. It's not a very elegant solution but seems to be the safest for how CPDN operates. The 32 minutes is the server time difference -- they are both going to the same time server in Ireland but somehow they are eventually going astray 32 minutes! |

Yeah, right....this is the RAC for an Apple G5 2.5 Power Mac! Host ID 72877 This user is getting disillusioned, fast. I'll stick with it for a time, but I must consider greener pastures. Getting credit like I was using a 486 is not my idea of recognition. Not to mention that my 3.4, 3,2, 2.8G HT's and 2.2 P4 have taken another 30% hit in RAC in the last 24 hours; that's after getting halved from before, i.e. going from 1445 to 716 something. Am I missing something? i can't see having to throw out another ICE BALL having anything to do with it. (That was one the 2.8G HT got) |

But credit in CPDN has nothing to do with RAC as such. Credits are based on the trickles received. Of course, those may not be correctly added but but you can only track that by looking at the actual change in total and comparing it with the trickles over the same period (allowing for delay in updating the database every couple of hours). |

well RAC's are a new phenomenon to CPDN, it's pretty much only ever been total credits (for those who are concerned about such things). I have changed things so RACs will get counted again just to try and stay consistent with other BOINC projects. But it's really the overall credits that have the most meaning, and they are based on trickles (as are the RACs) --- because CPDN workunits take so long it would be 0 RACs and 0 credits until a run is finished in a month! |

LOL...this is great. :) MWhahahaha...MWhahahaha...MWhahahaha... At this rate with my RAC (which is stuck at 429.93 and even though I return trickles multiple times a day) I will overtake Dogbytes (whose RAC has dropped over the past week or so from being stuck in the 1400's to 800 to 589.54, even though he has returned many trickles and added a dual G5). I always like to rub a bad dogs nose in it! SUFFER BUDDY. WOOHOO! [EDIT - just after posting this my RAC recalculated down to 180.....bugger let's see how it goes over the next week or so - so much for rubbing a dog's nose in it! Thanks Carl :) ] Paul (S@H1 8888) BOINC/SAH BETA |
