I want to quit crunching ClimatePrediction after my current two WU are up. Is there a way to not download new WU after I upload the results of my current ones? Otherwise I will be sitting on two WU that will never get done by me.

At the moment BOINC has no easy way of doing this, but you can alter your prefences to reduce the amount of disk space to below the minimum required for CPDN. Some people have reported that it does not work for them, and you have to make sure that you do it before models new are uploaded and the current ones complete.

I seem to recall someone saying that setting to zero days may not work to prevent you from downloading. What they (sorry, forgot who) suggested, and I've tried it a few times with success, is to set the "Leave at least xxx GB disk space free" setting to something larger than your entire hard drive. I've tried it. It does not seem to adversely affect the existing work units and does prevent download of a new unit. But, keep in mind that what ever meathod you try, including this one, that you must do a project "update" to load the new setting to your client BEFORE it attempts to download new work.

BTW: As mentioned, this will also prevent downloading work for any other projects on this host, and the settings will migrate to those other projects and to any other host crunching them. So once your WU is finished, update the project once more to "report" it, then detach and change your settings in one of the projects that you're still attached to.

This would be the logical method, but when I've tried this method in the past, the client often still requests at leaset 1 second of work (per cpu). So in CPDN's case I could end up with 2 * 2 months of work on an HT box.

That's the reason why I advocate the Leave at least setting.
