Looking at the questions on the forums, I've noticed quite a few are repeats.
I tried to use search to get references to previous answers (not just mine ;) ) but absolutely no joy.
Can anyone look into this?
And please let's have the main forum up again.

Are you saying if you go to <a href="http://climateapps2.oucs.ox.ac.uk/cpdnboinc/forum_text_search_form.php">http://climateapps2.oucs.ox.ac.uk/cpdnboinc/forum_text_search_form.php</a>
and put in your search items, click on the search button, that you don't get results back? I've sometimes had problems hitting enter in the query box, but clicking the search button has always worked.

The only place the search link is available from is the main pages for <a href="http://climateapps2.oucs.ox.ac.uk/cpdnboinc/forum_help_desk.php">Questions and Problems</a> and <a href="http://climateapps2.oucs.ox.ac.uk/cpdnboinc/forum_index.php">Message Boards</a>.

It'd be nice if it was available from all pages of the forums.

I meant, the search box is working, just the answers aren't there.
I'm thinking of topics like "not enough disk space allocated, "failed to cleanup sockets interface"... which I'm sure you're all familiar with.

When I do a search for not enough disk space allocated just in the Titles search, I get 28 hits. Or is this not what you mean? There appears to be helpful answers to this problem under some of the threads that were in the hits.

Wow - you got it, you hit the spott. Hitting Enter gives zilch but clicking Search buttos gives search results. MANY thanks!

Definetely.

I feel like Honza. All this time and finally I can find things!
Thanks.

Sorry, Geophi, I hadn't read your message properly. I was referring to the search site box at the top of every page.
It is nice and visible, but doesn't get you anywhere. Could it be replaced with the other link?
btw, I had put a similar link to <a href="http://climateapps2.oucs.ox.ac.uk/cpdnboinc/forum_text_search_form.php">keyword search</a> on a page for my students and nobody used it. Apparently they didn't realize it would open a search box. (And I understand that better now  )
So I rewrote it into a form.
