Hi, I've tried to locate one of my machine to "work" instead of "home" but BOINC says: --- - 2005-01-31 08:48:35 - General prefs: from climateprediction.net (last modified 2005-01-31 07:40:06) --- - 2005-01-31 08:48:35 - General prefs: no separate prefs for home; using your defaults I've done several updates in BOINC with no result. I've done this change of location, only on the CPDN general preferences web page. Do I have to do it on Seti, LHC, E@H, P@H websites to see the change. Does it really work, because team-mates have also problems with this feature. Arnaud |

There are lots of problems with the way the public release of BOINC handles venue changes, Arnaud. The Only way I've found of doing it is to stop BOINC and manually edit the client_state.xml file in your BOINC directory. The second last line of the file (well it is on all of mine with venues) will currently be <host_venue>home</host_venue> All you need to do is change "home" to "work". Your general preferences should be ported across to the other projects automatically, but I'd check to make sure ;) "The ultimate test of a moral society is the kind of world that it leaves to its children." - Dietrich Bonhoeffer |

OK, thanks a lot. I've done what you said, and it works very fine. Thanks again [smiley: very happy] Arnaud |
