7 days ago I updated my client from 4.18 to 4.19 and it worked fine. But 2 days ago, when I start BOINC all WUs (3 X S@H, 2 X E@H and 1 X climateprediction.net) were suddenly finished. The WU e.g. from climateprediction.net needed 400h and now it is finished...that´s strange. I lost about 100h of processingtime. To prevent that this happen again, I downgraded BOINC to 4.18. Anyone got the same problem? WIN XP SP 2 - AMD 3200+ - 1GB DDRAM BOINC 4.19 |

That's strange, because the error message logged with your result 462256 seems to indicate that it was running BOINC 4.18 when it failed :? Then I re-installed the 4.19, and re-attatched using the original info from my first time. Now, not only did I have to go back to square 1 in process time elapsed, but it now shows me to have 2 computers, when in fact, I only have one. My point total was unaffected, but I am afraid that I may have inadvertantly deleted information which the server thinks I am still processing. Danny Reynolds, Team USA |

Perhaps the errormessage is from 4.18 because I first downgraded BOINC to 4.18 and then reported to the server. |

When installing a new version of BOINC, Suspend and then Exit the BOINC GUI. Run the new installer for the new version and have it overwrite executables in the older version. Some people backup their BOINC folder before the run the upgrade as insurance. As for the lost model, the server will not know it is done, but that's alright. There are so many models being run with slightly different parameter sets/initial conditions that its loss is not a big deal. It was probably sent to 3 other people for validation anyway. |
