Going on more about the problems in the BOINC visualization...

Running the beta Advanced Visualization software, clouds in the extratropics/middle latitudes do generally move from west to east, unlike the BOINC CPDN visualization. So it appears the model is doing fine in predicting locations and movement of clouds, whereas the visualization that everyone sees is not displaying the model output correctly.
