Hi, I would be relly grateful if you could help with the following 2 problems in XP home edition:

1) The screensaver does not display the globe, it only displays a message saying that the password box shoould be ticked. However I don't know what password box it is referring to.

2)When I click on the SVI icon on my desktop I get the Runtime Error "Unable to change current directory to C:\programs\climate\archive" I have tried re-installing but to no avail.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Hi Craig and welcome.

Re 1.
If you right click the desktop choose properties and then the screensaver tab, is there a ticked box marked 'On resume, password protect'? Does unticking this work?

C:programsclimatearchive does not look right. Where has the IDL program been installed? (Mine went to C:\Program files\CLIMAT~1)

Edit: Oh I see backslashes don't display

The publically available IDL program was released for CP classic version. A new one is due soon for BOINC. The public one cannot see BOINC timestep information but can be used to look at archive experiments. Having been doing some beta testing, I am unsure of my memory for the public version. I think that if you want to look at completed runs, you have to have the files in an archive sub directory of the directory where the program is stored.

Do not know if that helps because my memory could be completely confused.

Many thanks for this reply, however it seems to relate to another question. The problem that I outlined is that the SVI package does not open when I click on the icon. I would most appreciate any advice. Craig
