For some unknown reason my seti project has renamed itself as climate prediction project this is what I get when I try to send a completed work unit to seti. Anybody got any bright ideas how to fix this resetting the project may affect the climate prediction unit that I am crunching climateprediction.net - 2005-03-02 21:55:36 - Requesting 8027 seconds of work climateprediction.net - 2005-03-02 21:55:36 - Sending request to scheduler: http://climateapps2.oucs.ox.ac.uk/cpdnboinc_cgi/cgi climateprediction.net - 2005-03-02 21:55:39 - Scheduler RPC to http://climateapps2.oucs.ox.ac.uk/cpdnboinc_cgi/cgi succeeded climateprediction.net - 2005-03-02 21:55:39 - Message from server: Invalid or missing account ID. I don't see anything about SETI in your log - there is a CPDN project, CPDN servers etc. Bright idea? Somebody had dettached your computer from SETI and put it on CPDN :-) <i>phpBB forum for CPDN, all are </i><a href="http://www.climateprediction.net/board">invited</a> |

I think I remember this problem with early versions of BOINC like 4.05 and ealier. What version are you running? |

I can only say the same as Honza concerning the proclaimed kidnap, but trying to contact Seti is not a good idea ATM. It's down again because of a power outage in the whole building. No data loss this time ;), but nevertheless no contact since 28/02/05, 18:00 UTC. The only idea I have is this: I've just read in two other fora something similar: <a href="http://predictor1.scripps.edu/forum_thread.php?id=1351">Here @Predictor</a> and <a href="http://einstein.phys.uwm.edu/forum_thread.php?id=1181">Here @Einstein</a> Grüße vom Sänger ![]() |

Hi, I had this problem once with LHC & CPDN under BOINC 4.05 or 4.09 (don't remember well). LHC was doing test and each time I tried to have LHC work, boinc contacted CPDN. I don't why. Arnaud |

Thanks guys nice to know i'm not alone not much we can do until seti resumes I suppose. Honza trust me it's a seti project trying to connect to cpdn in fact it has renamed itself as a cpdn project. You don't often see cpdn projects requesting 8000 seconds of work. I am running 4 projects on this particular computer (well I was ) seti is renamed cpdn predictor tries to contact cpdn cpdn and einstein seem to be ok (touch wood) ![]() visit boinc@Australia ![]() |

Try a manual update on the renamed projects under the 'projects' tab of the BOINC GUI - when this particular problem was rife with an older version of BOINC, that action fixed the problem for at least one user AFAICR. <a href="http://www.nmvs.dsl.pipex.com/"><img src="http://boinc.mundayweb.com/cpdn/stats.php?userID=6&team=off&trans=off"></a> <a href="http://www.nmvs.dsl.pipex.com/">Distributed Mania</a> |

Bruno I will check it out when I get home from work I suspect it does as the projects tab shows two cpdn projects running one with 114562.5 of credits which is seti the other with 7088.81 which is correct for cpdn ![]() visit boinc@Australia ![]() |

First take a note of the credit amount listed on the projects tab for the seti project. You would then need to close the BOINC client while opening client_state.xml in a text editor (not Word or something like that, use notepad or similar). Make a back-up of the file just in case. Search for the occurance of the credit amount. If you find it next to a string that says user_total_credit>, you have found the seti project settings. A little above the total credit amount you will find a string that say master_url> If it is followed by http://climateprediction.net/ it should be changed to http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/ The line just below is project_name> - if it is followed by climateprediction.net it should be changed to SETI@home A bit further down, below the user credits, you will find a string that says scheduler_url> If it is followed by http://climateapps2.oucs.ox.ac.uk/cpdnboinc_cgi/cgi then it should be changed to http://setiboinc.ssl.berkeley.edu/sah_cgi/cgi This should help - if it doesn't, close the BOINC client emediatly and restored the backed up client_state.xml file. ![]() |

Hi, Just to confirm that the problem exists: climateprediction.net - 2005-03-05 17:24:43 - Sending request to scheduler: http://burp.xxxxxxx/burp_cgi/cgi climateprediction.net - 2005-03-05 17:24:49 - Scheduler RPC to http://burp.xxxxxxxx/burp_cgi/cgi failed climateprediction.net - 2005-03-05 17:24:49 - Sending request to scheduler: http://climateapps2.oucs.ox.ac.uk/cpdnboinc_cgi/cgi climateprediction.net - 2005-03-05 17:24:54 - Scheduler RPC to http://climateapps2.oucs.ox.ac.uk/cpdnboinc_cgi/cgi succeeded climateprediction.net - 2005-03-05 17:24:54 - Project prefs: no separate prefs for home; using your defaults First, CPDN tries to contact Burp (Alpha URL modified with xxxxxx) and then after failure contact CPDN scheduler.
