I just completed a model and started a new one on one of my PCs (<a href="http://climateapps2.oucs.ox.ac.uk/cpdnboinc/workunit.php?wuid=392922">here</a>) the problem is, the [hadsm3um_4.10_i] process goes defunct shortly after start up. Not in the same place each time but always with in the first 50 timesteps. I have rebooted just to ensure clean memory maps but this model just doesn't want to run. Anyone have any ideas?

Maybe the hadsm3 4.10 executable is damaged? Perhaps a reset of project may work?

ciao, tom

It's a Linux problem, I'm afraid. See <a href="http://climateapps2.oucs.ox.ac.uk/cpdnboinc/forum_thread.php?id=2078">this thread</a> and <a href="http://climateapps2.oucs.ox.ac.uk/cpdnboinc/forum_thread.php?id=2074">this one</a>.

Sooo.. does this mean I'm done with cpdn until a new model client is released?

Check to make sure that the correct user owns all the files. Noticed I had fubared and run the initial startup as root (instead of boinc) and it created some files as root:root. Easy fix, drop into the boinc home directory and do a:

chown boinc:boinc * -R

Mine is now running perfect on my Fedora Core 3 machine.

See this <a href="http://climateapps2.oucs.ox.ac.uk/cpdnboinc/forum_thread.php?id=2078">thread</a>
for news about 4.11 for Linux.
