I continue to face problems on my laptop Pan.

After splitting and uploading my numerous trickles and downloading a new experiment (actually I think it downloaded two but only is working one, like it is supposed to), I started getting...

Got ack for result (null), can't find

This went on for 6 trickle attempts over 5 days and then switched over to

Can't resolve host name climateapps2.oucs.ox.ac.uk(valid name no data record of requested type)

scheduler init_op_project to http://climateapps2.oucs.ox.ac.uk/cpdnboinc_cgi/cgi failed, error -113
Deferring communication...

On manual update attempt it says...

Can't resolve host name....[address as above]
Master file fetch failed [which is a good tongue-twister]
Deferring communication...

Is this an orphan experiment because of what I had to do to manage the trickle overflow?

I guess you're referring to <a href="http://climateapps2.oucs.ox.ac.uk/cpdnboinc/show_host_detail.php?hostid=25570">this system</a> Bill.

Hmmm. That suggests the scheduler is returning a result acknowledgement without supplying a result name. The result <b>22lr0_100142729_2</b> is marked as successfully completed in your stats, so my guess is that it hasn't been cleared from the client_state.xml file for some reason. When the scheduler receives your completion request it is sending back a blank acknowledgement becasue a previous request (which you didn't receive a reply for) has caused the result to be marked as done. Looking at the latest BOINC scheduler code (which Tolu updated to last night) this should no longer be a problem. But if you want to clear out the result yourself you'll need stop BOINC and delete every section in the <b>client_state.xml</b> file containing the string <b>22lr0_100142729</b> (there should be 6 * <b>file_info</b>, 1 * <b>workunit</b> and 1 * <b>result</b>).

Not at all. It should still be chugging along quite happily. For some reason your system is failing to resolve the server's name. Has anything changed in the networking at your end?

Unfortunately that didn't work. All of the references were to the current experiment (2b7c_200128926), on the other hand, it looks like 2azs_200128651 is also assigned (http://climateapps2.oucs.ox.ac.uk/cpdnboinc/workunit.php?wuid=379612). When I did the trickle upload on the 27th, the first upload downloaded 2azs..., while the second downloaded 2b7c..., and it has been running that second one (I think) ever since.

Not quite the same but, perhaps, in the same ball park.

The run is obviously finished, but my concern is that the five result files were not received. (They were surely cast away toward the server because they are not in the Directory. Nor is there anything in client_state.xml for the run.)

The machine continues to send Trickles for 4.04 Models.
