Yes, well, I have a model one day from being done ... I am gonna keep it suspended until I start seeing trickles showing up again ...

Good idea....I have one 23h 44m to completion...my first one. I don't want to lose it! I will slow it and suspend before it gets to that "down the tubes" point I think.

Tigher
Suspend is a good idea. But backup as well if possible. It will be insurance against anything going wrong with your processing near the end.
When it looks like the servers are working and you start up again, disable the net access until it finishes. That way, you will have ALL the data ready to upload in a rush. Just in case the server goes down at the last minute.

I've got a pair suspended at 4 hours and backed up. And, so as not to waste time, I cleaned up the BOINC folders and let it download a new pair, currently at 70 hours. So I can afford to wait a while to make sure the servers are stable, before I begin the tedious task of backup and restore for the 2 sets of models.
The second of the previous 2 had about 4 weeks to go, so I'll have to run on one processor for a while.

But we'll get there. Good luck with yours.

The first missed trickles are shown recently on my account but still total credit is wrong.

My <a href="http://climateapps2.oucs.ox.ac.uk/cpdnboinc/result.php?resultid=894631">model that finished June 17th</a> now has 72 trickles listed, and the end of run graphs. Cool. Glad they were queued up. Complete credit for the run was received.

This is just BOINC doing it's job of allocating problems fairly to all the projects :)

I now have all 10 of my missing trickles from June 14-19 on there. I suspended CPDN after them because the next trickle was the 24th, and if they were "losing" them, I didn't want to lose that one. I've already received the numerical credit for the first 5 (they arrived first). I bet the credit for the remaining five will appear in the next couple hours. Good job, guys. :-)

Quick update--those credits are also all there. All caught up in a couple hours. :-)

Let's see if I can get my stats to show up.

This is the kind of thing that appeals to my odd sense of humor. But it shows that even having 5 production projects is not really enough to keep us busy in the worst cases...

I also think it is demonstrating a point I tried to make back in early beta days when I pointed out that when we went truly multi-project we would see a whole nother crop of problems ... I hate being right all the time ... :)

But none of this makes me down-hearted as even in the face of tremendous problems, the system <b>as a whole</b> continues to function. Even better, the number of projects available and operational is increasing, giving the potential for overcoming even the most severe outage scenerios ...

Drat! There I go again ... cheerleading ... Rah! Rah!

ooking at my results, there are 72 trickles listed, but no graphs available nor full credit. Those model were uploaded during latest server problems, during the Jun 19th

Yep, I have two (one finished on the 20th, and another on the 21st) that completed with 72 trickles, but the end of phase 3 graph is not there, and the credits are incorrect for a successful run.

It seems there is still a backlog of the verifying. I am also low on credits, but the trickles are all there.

It was down for nearly a week, give it 2-3 days to catch up with all the work it needs to do, then see where we are.

5 trickles finally emerged magically ( ;) ), but only two of them generated credit... hmmm ? ;(
Well, i'll wait another 2 or 3 days (what matters by a 7 days outage) for credit to flow in, before i moan further... ;)

Hi. Well I too have trickles coming through now and credits given. Tell me....I have a model that is 7 hrs away from completion but it has only 23 trickles as far as I can see. Is this normal? Am I misunderstanding this. Its my first one and I really want a decent outcome. Any views please? WU is 602571. http://climateapps2.oucs.ox.ac.uk/cpdnboinc/result.php?resultid=918683

Each model run in CPDN has three phases - for an explanation of this see <a href="http://www.climateprediction.net/science/strategy.php#exp_1">here</a>. Your experiment is actually nearing the end of phase 1, so 23 trickles is correct.

Hi,

you are not 7 hrs away from completing your whole model but only 7 hrs away from completing phase1 of your model. Each phase has 24 trickles. I read elsewhere that there is a bug in a one of the newer boinc version (maybe 4.43?) that is showing modelprogress of one cp result only to completion of each phase. If you get through phase 1 and entering phase2 Boinc will show that you are at 0% through the model.

As I read there periodically it is recommended to update boinc to a more stable version. But I don't know what version this would be.
