I just ran an updater to get correct hostid/userid/teamid for a result from the trickle info, there were something like 25K results with bad hosts! so people should be getting a lot of credits (well and losing a lot too, but they didn't deserve 'em! :-)
kenfins rac & total credit #'s (and probably a cast of thousands') should be fixed now.

Carl

First of all, thanks a lot!

It looks like the updater fixed the problems with the misallocated WUs (both ways, the ones I crunched for others and the one someone crunched for me). However, now some old work units are not accounted for. For example, host 76637 is missing credits for WU 374239 (3ef6_100180254_0), the very first it completed on Dec 8, 2004. Also, host 173068 (which was merged from a previous incarnation of the computer that crashed a disk - I do not have the old host ID, sorry) is missing all workunits it worked on before the current one; i.e: 374121 (3eby_100180136_0), 409173 (220x_100116913_2), 568076 (2d5d_200131472_0, incomplete because of crash).

I wonder whether there are more cases like these. I'll keep looking.

However, the total credit seems to be correct (and is about 30K cobbles above the sum of the individual credits of all my computers).

Regards,

LS

Does this mean that the results for merged machines are no longer available?. Due to a double allocated WU I detached/reattached and then merged one of my machines (id 321 -> 187529). All of the results for 321 seem to have disappeared from my stats page - although the total credit I have is still correct.

I have a similar problem. I recently merged a machine due to a problem I experienced after trying to recover a crashed model and upgrading to the new version of BOINC. My "new" machine (199807) has now lost all the credits from the previous one (73339) - about 20,000, although my user account still seems to have them. On the other hand my "best" machine has suddenly zoomed from 116 to 77 on the Top Computers ladder, so I suppose I shouldn't complain too much!

does the machine appear so you can "re-merge" it? I never looked into how boinc does merging, so it's possible I reset merged machines back to the original result/hostid combination. which would explain why user credits are OK but individual computer's may be off. Unfortunately there's probably no way to tell a merged machine from one that had a mismatched hostid now that I've recalculated everything (without having to get things from the backup disk etc).

I tried to get the details for my old merged machine id (321) using the following but the server just came back with "Couldn't find computer".

http://climateapps2.oucs.ox.ac.uk/cpdnboinc/show_host_detail.php?hostid=321

I suppose I could look for a result id and track back that way? - I never made a note of any of them though.

I went to my user page and looked through all the results listed for my username. There were results for computer id 321 listed but when I clicked on the "321" link it came back with the "Couldn't find computer" message.

It looks like the result ids still refer back to the merged machines, and the total stats for the user are therefore correct, but there are no stats available for the merged machines themselves.

Carl is trying a fix - see <a href="http://www.climateprediction.net/board/viewtopic.php?p=28800#28800">this thread</a>.

ok, the new recalc should be finished. the problem was that boinc actually deletes the old host record when you do a merge. so since there's nowhere to put the mismatched hosts if it was merged, I just have them go to your latest regisered machine. then at least (if you don't want the merged credits there) you can merge off of that machine.

Carl,

Well, in my case that was the correct machine to use. Now 199807 has its credits back. As a result of all the machinations my best performed machine has now dropped back to 143! (It is being hit by running the sulphur model as well as the standard model...) Still, my user account has gone up from 300 to 288.

Thanks for all the crunching.

What was that someone said about speaking too soon? I now seem to have lost that 20,000 in credits again from 199807, and this time it's disappeared from my hostid stats as well. (Well, at least this time it's consistant!). However, 11065 has now zoomed back up to 75 on the table, and my hostid has retained its improved position, so everybody else must have lost a lot of points as well. I can live with that.

I'm trying to get MySQL up and running on my home network and am having very little success. I'm thinking of giving Firebird a go...

The credit allocating program runs every 12 hours.
Perhaps this did something to your account.

The only thing that I'm missing, is 2 trickles from 5 hours and 8 hours ago.
But then I never got caught in the mis-allocated model problem, nor done a merge.
