Hi,

2 successful runs vanished from my result table, and with them the ~13k credits and the calculated model years have vanished, too.

If the results were purged, shouldn't the achieved figures like credit and calculated model years stay?

Regards,
Femue

[Edit]
The results were 1y2a_200111727_1, finished 22nd of May 2005 and 3x94_000204901_1, finished 7th of May 2005.

Have you read <a href="http://www.climateprediction.net/board/viewtopic.php?t=3111"> this</a> thread about Carl's credit fixing?

&gt; Have you read <a> href="http://www.climateprediction.net/board/viewtopic.php?t=3111"&gt; this</a>
&gt; thread about Carl's credit fixing?

Well I have read that thread and it just happens, that from an account of more than 20,000 points crunched thru several endless working hours, now my credit count has gone down to a few points above the 10,000 mark (10,585.96 to be exact).

Truly, in this particular case, if this is the way things are going to be counted and left as such, I know that it is up to me to continue or just drop the crunching in this project. I think that I will probably stay with the other projects. This is not serious!!!

Yup, i am down to 3.6k credits now, so that fixing has blown away about 70% of the credits i earned yet and both models i fought for three month on 2 puters. Thank you very much.

Femue,

Would it be possible to unhide your computers so we can see what is happening.

What I can see is that you have reached trickle 23 on 1 model and 16 on another and this should give you 3686 credits which is the amount you now have.

Have you worked on any other models? If so, please provide any information you have eg model name, (preferable resultid but that could be impossible to find unless you remember), date, time and size of directory for the model and name of last file written.

it looks like it was the database problem with merged machines, as the records for these results have a hostid but there is no longer a record in the host table. what happened when the database was unstable a month or so ago is that the query to drop the old host record would go through, but the update to the result table didn't work. hence the result still points to a new unexisting host record. usually in databases a "foreign key constraint" would prevent this, but boinc (well really the mysql database) doesn't use it (or if they do they just added it).

Carl,

everything is back again. I wasn't able to post earlier, because just when writing the reply with the answers to your questions the server died. And sorry for the disgusted undertone in the last post, but i was really down at that moment ... felt so helpless ... wasn't even able to register for the php-fora 'cause my browser didn't display the confirmation-picture :-))

Thank you very much for your help, i keep on crunching (would have anyway ;-)

[Edit]
I tried to send a mail to the php-forum-administrator because of not getting the confirmation-code picture. This is what i get back (no problem for me now, but maybe it can be fixed for others):

Hi, glad the final recalc fixed up everything for you. I understand people were upset about the missing credits but there was nothing to it other than a database recovery (i.e. we weren't trying to knowingly "penalize" people or claim they illegally stole credits etc! :-)

Hi Carl,

should have known and simply have some faith ...

Thanks again!
