There is this in the Wiki, and there is some info in the news on the projects front page, and also a short piece in the science section on the Sulphur model. |

I got one this weekend and with less than two hours crunching, it is showing 2109 hours to go. That means it will take about three months to do, and the deadline is January 26! This one will be ok, since it is on a HT machine, but I worry about the single thread machines that are sharing with other projects. A three week unit takes six weeks sharing with one project, nine with three, assuming equal resources. So the sulphur cycle would take six months or nine months. Good thing the deadlines are not written in stone. Pam |

The sulphur deadlines are tight because they need the results for the start of the coupled model, which they hope will start in February. |

> I got one this weekend and with less than two hours crunching, it is showing > 2109 hours to go. Don't panic. That's what I did; on my case after a couple of hours the prediction was 1700 hours. Now, after a week and 9.32% done the predicted requested time is 1333 hours (of 1470). I've just a minor problem with BOINC 4.45. After started for some reason it detects that it would take 2300 hours to finish the CPDN WU and reports the system is overcomited and start to crunch other projects by earliest deadline. In that case I've to suspend all other WU's wait until corrects the remaining time and continue to crunch for other projects. |

Starting BOINC and the sulphur experiment BOINC reports that my machine is overcomited. But running only cp.net it has no opportunity to run workunits with earlier deadlines so it has to crunch sulphur. Ciao |
