What are the specific error messages when it keeps erroring? I note that BOINC does not identify your CPU as an XP 2800+. Is it overclocked or running in a motherboard that does not identify it correctly? Just wondering. |

sence the new model is doing the same thing and sence no one seems to have any input on the subject, I will detach and find another endever. I may return in six months and try then to see if the software works. it is just too bad because I believe that this is one of the more worthy projects out there. |

Also what were the specific error messages you recieved when the models fail? that information would help a lot in diagnosing the problem Lee |

I dont get a boinc error windows tells me x program has encountered a problem and must shutdown. boinc acts like the program is running but no clock ticks ,task manager shows program ether not in memmory or just not useing any resorces. when I shut down boinc and then restart it runs for a short period 1 to 5 min and then windows pops up with x program has encountered a problem. BTW seti and Einstein run with no prob |

The best error messages for cp fault finding are in stdoutdae.txt, in the BOINC folder. |

also try stderrdae.txt but if it's crashing before it's got a chance to write the info to the files then they won't be much help |

I believe I have fixed the problem I excluded the Boinc folder from active virus protection and all seems well. I also stoped BoincView although Im not sure how that would interfere. does anyone else run BoincView 1.02 with climate? |

I\'ll be honest, i don\'t know what boincview does, but if it\'s just for remote management, then you can do that by installing boinc as a service and then the manager is seperate from the actual cruncher, so you can connect to the boinc service on other PCs read paul\'s info about setting it up here - http://boinc-doc.net/boinc-wiki/index.php?title=Remote_Hosts_File and here - http://boinc-doc.net/boinc-wiki/index.php?title=BOINC_Daemon_Password I\'ve only used the in-built boinc rpc features, but i\'ve never had problems with it, it\'s always worked Lee |

does anyone else run BoincView 1.02 with climate? Yes. It runs fine as long as you don\'t rely on its estimates for completion (too long) or credits (too low). "The ultimate test of a moral society is the kind of world that it leaves to its children." - Dietrich Bonhoeffer |

just an update project still running second trickle sent. my prob must have been the active virus scan every time a file opens or closes. |

just an update project still running second trickle sent. most probably, i\'ve heard that some \"lock\" the file with exclusive access (so BOINC won\'t have a chance) although i must admit i\'ve never had a problem with this myself just for the record, what brand, version/flavour of virus scanner are u using, incase others have this problem Lee |

E-Trust AV Ver 7.0.6.7 It\'s probably a good thing that it has a low tollerance for file errors, considering it has so many dependancies and if something if even slightly wrong, it could alter the outcome of the model but glad to hear your back in business :) Happy crunching Lee |
