Hi, it think it isn't normal that there is a cold spot in the afternoon above the sahara in Africa. Took a look a this screen: |

> Hi, it think it isn't normal that there is a cold spot in the afternoon above > the sahara in Africa. Same thing with my run !! A cold spot (betwwen -12 and -24°C) appears in tropical areas in Africa then disappears and appears again... Its position is not fixed, it is between Chad and Mauritania. And yes, I think that is a bit weird. But maybe it is due to the initial conditions of the run and the phenomenon will disappear. |

I'm getting a more extreme version of his on a couple of runs. The worst is run 005_000024990 (late April/early May 1812), which starts with a cold cell in the east of India at 0430, covers most of the sub-continent at 0730, and develops cold areas at either coast of Saudi Arabia. Its track across Africa starts in Sudan at 0930 and leaves Mauritania at 1930. Run 004_000014989 is not quite so extreme. It skips Saudi Arabia but does have a day time cold spot on the Egyptian Mediterranean coast. |

Looking at the visualisations again I think the problem is not cold spots. It's starting to look more like a colour mapping discrepancy at the top end of the scale to me. I'm now getting these spots all over the place surrounded by cells at greater than 30C on 3 different models. |

hmmm, my guess is it's "out of bounds" hot-spots (looks like Saharan Africa so that would make sense). we'll double-check this in the vis code. |

Also in my model 00ct_000025446_0 strange white Spots in hot areas like Africa or India. Maybe also "out of bounds" temperatue-areas. |
