I am almost at the end of Phase 1 of the Sulpher Model. I made a back up, and as usuall the size of the back up increased but a lot more than expected. My last backup was 311 megs, which seems normal, todays was a little over 2 Gigs. When I looked at the files there were 1.65 gigs of files in the tmp folder for the model, this was almost empty until now. Are these files that are being gotten ready for reporting at the end of the phase? Or something that BOINC did not delete? Almost all have file dates in the past 1½ days. The dataout folder has 1.15 Gigs of files, whiich is what I expected from the Sulpher project. Ray Brown Keep on crunching Pizza@Home |

Ray, As you can see from my post a day or so ago I was surprised by the recent upload size, but assured all was well. I looked through all my boincCPDN folders and found several in the 500mb size, but none as large as you describe and the tmp folders essentially empty. Maybe they got that big, but were cleaned up after my recent upload of Phase 1. Karl N |

On an Athlon64 3400+ running sulphur in WinXP, midway through phase 3, I only have 3 files, totalling a little over 1 MB in size. Could you give us an example of the filenames in the tmp directory? |

When I got up just a few munites ago the tmp folder was empty, they must have gome in with the Phase 1 reporting. The files in the tmp folder were all callled 4638_300294788.number.cpdn the numbers started around 240000 and imcremented by one from there. There were 11,403 of them when I made the backup. As they are gone now looks like all is good, must have been part of the reporting. Ray Keep on crunching Pizza@Home |
