A trickle occurs at every 10802 time steps (from memory, it has been a while) at say 3.5 seconds per time step for your computer, so roughly at 10.5hrs! It all depends on how accurate the 3.5 seconds per time step is, you can see this by showing graphics and seeing what it is for your computer.

Live long and crunch!

I would guess from your post that you are running a sulphur model, which takes longer than the slab (HadSM3) version, but you get more credit.

If you are running the slab experiment, then your speed is slower than I would expect, so let us know and someone will offer advice.

My 2.8 Ghz machine is running at 5.34 s/TS and trickles about every 15 hours.

It has trickled with the result of 3.2142 S/Ts and was about 9.5 hrs.

There are several reasons why your model might be running so slowly. Two common ones are:

1. Using the screensaver. Although it is the default option, it is a bad idea in CPDN at least, because it takes a lot of processing power. Use the graphics option when you want to look at it, not otherwise.

2. Having your general preferences set to remove the application from memory if you are running several projects.

Looks like he\'s running sulphur on one thread of a dual proc, 2.8 GHz Xeon with HT enabled. That sec/TS should be about right for that.

I should have checked! I\'d forgotten about Xeons - I had just assumed that it was a P4. On that basis, it isn\'t doing badly compared with madmacs\' single thread.

Second tickle no credit yet. How long to wait for credit on second tickle?

Normally the stats scripts are run twice a day, but I am unsure when they are run.
