Before scrapping my Notebook (WinXP), I saved the entire BOINC V4.19 Installation so nothing gets lost, especially since the Model was closing in on finishing. Now I plan to move the entire BOINC Installation (not the Win32-specific Executables of course) onto the new Machine, but that is a Linux box that will run V5.2x So what do you think, can I expect Problems ? Will the Server accept the Trickle then coming from a Box with different OS, IP Address, BOINC Version, CPU and RAM ? (I know I won\'t be able to merge the Systems, which might make things easier) Certainly don\'t want to lose the almost finished Model :p Scientific Network : 44800 MHz - 77824 MB - 1970 GB |

Actually you may not need to merge hosts. When copying the directory the host info may get updated rather than recreated. The big problem is the files may not be in the right format and that may cause the model to error out anyway. BOINC WIKI BOINCing since 2002/12/8 |

Looks like I\'ll have to give it a shot then while retaining a Backup and being offline. Scientific Network : 44800 MHz - 77824 MB - 1970 GB |

I don\'t think you can run a Win32 model under Linux, because of incompatibilities, or were you thinking of using WINE? In which case I don\'t know. |

Looking deeper into it, I also think my only chance is by manually feeding it into a Win2000 machine, that \'should\' work (I hope ;) ) Scientific Network : 44800 MHz - 77824 MB - 1970 GB |
