Since nearly 1 day ago, the BOINC Project Status has reported: Unable to communicate with http://cpdn-upload1.comlab.ox.ac.uk/cpdn_cgi/file_upload_handler The attempt to communicate will be retried on the next refresh of the BOINC Project Status. This is causing an endless supply of confusion, because your status page reports uploadcomlab is running, when in fact it is unreachable. Please be aware of this issue and resolve it soon.
My contribution, though small is great! |

The two computer people are in America, as per the news on the front page. Not sure what can be done if a server has failed. |

The server is reported as running as of an hour ago. How are you two getting on now? |

I think I\'m having similar problems. I can\'t trickle. Everything\'s green on the server stats page, but I get these messages: 20/11/2005 17:59:25||request_reschedule_cpus: project op 20/11/2005 17:59:28|climateprediction.net|Fetching master file 20/11/2005 17:59:50||Couldn\'t connect to hostname [climateprediction.net] 20/11/2005 17:59:53|climateprediction.net|Master file fetch failed 20/11/2005 17:59:53|climateprediction.net|Too many backoffs - fetching master file |

> Master file fetch failed This is most likely because the server with the main page is down for the weekend. There is routine maintainence at the Open University on the 19/20 th. Try again on Monday. As for trickles, I\'m having no problems, so it\'s most likely YOUR computer setup. Have you upgraded BOINC recently? Changed the firewall or proxy server? What version of BOINC are you using? |

Hmmm. Well, I DID upgrade from 5.2.5 to 5.2.7 a while back... but it was trickling fine until yesterday. Will wait \'till tomorrow. Could just be the main page server. |

It WAS the server. Trickling fine now. |

I\'m receiving the following error messages: 12/4/2005 11:43:54 AM||Couldn\'t connect to hostname [cpdn-upload1.comlab.ox.ac.uk] 12/4/2005 11:43:55 AM|climateprediction.net|Temporarily failed upload of 3isv_000185987_0_3.zip: system I/O Server stats show all servers operational yet I cannot upload despite numerous attempts. Last week, I upgraded from BOINC v4.4.5 to BOINC v5.2.7 and today, upgraded to BOINC v5.2.13 without success. ALL CPDN files are complete, waiting in the TRANSFER tab in a \"deferred\" state. The CPDN Project (in the WORK tab) is in an \"uploading\" state. The last successful \"trickle\" occurred 04-Dec-2005 at 14:21:11. At that time, I was running BOINC v5.2.7. Anyone else experiencing this problem? -John- |

Whatever the problem was, it appears to be corrected. This morning, All pending completed files uploaded automatically without error when I started my computer. No changes were made to my computer to accomplish this so I must assume the problem was elsewhere. If anyone can explain what caused this problem occurs, I would be most interested. -John- |

Perhaps a server or router at Oxford needed a kick to get it going again. |
