I\'ve made the upgrade from the old 4.43 to 5.2.13 on one of my machines so I could run Rosetta, and would like to do the same on another machine that already has a big CPDN Sulphur model in progress.

Will upgrading BOINC affect my CPDN in progress? Are there any precautions I need to take?

Suspend, wait, exit BOINC.
Backup first, but otherwise, just overwrite with the new version.
When you start the new version, one of the first lines in the messages tab is: version change; then processing should continue from where the old version left off.

Crud. I went to 5.2.13 superbench, which didn\'t work, and then went back to 4.44 superbench. It downloaded a new sulphur. Has this rewritten everything, or can I run reg (non-superbench 5.2.13) and resume my previous CPDN.

I\'m not familiar with superbench. An optimised version?

However, the upgrade failure is what the backup is for.
Delete the BOINC folder, copy the backup to this position, then reboot.
You\'ll lose the new sulphur, but get back the original.
You can even try a new upgrade with a normal BOINC from this sites download page.
