This is just a trivial report for your interest how CPDN will run on Mac_mini(1.5GHz).

It\'s less than two weeks since I joined CPDN and started to run sulphur_4.22 on my Mac_mini/BOINC_Menubar/MacOSX10.4Tiger, 24 hours everyday.

\'BOINC Data\' is kept on USB Flash disk(1GB), connected to ~/Library/ApplicationSupport via symbolic link.

Now, very roughly, the progress is 0.6% per day.
At this rate, the processing of the present WU will end no earlier than June.

One notice:
Do not leave Log Displayed of BOINC_Menubar; the application writes onto the Log, and it seems letting BOINC_Menubar consume non trivial amount of CPU time.

I\'m not sure I completely understand about the flash drive, but sulphur disk requirements are definitely more than 1 GB, so you may have troubles soon if you mean the

climateprediction.net/\"experimentname\"/dataout

directory is on the flash drive.

Present disk usage is 582MB, and seems growing.
I will carefully watch the disk usage.

The CPDN\'s claim I read was such that

disk requirement: 600MB;
application will run for a week;

so, I started this application.

Actually, far far far away.

My report is the warning to Mac people.

I\'d propose the enormous amount of the messages of the form:

sulphur_j5k1_000893665 - PH 1 TS 0090787 A - 02/03/1816 09:30 - H:M:S=0229:50:44 AVG= 9.11 DLT= 4.92

be written not on the system console but somewhere else. Also, I like to have prefixed timestamps.

The disk usage reached 888MB, at WorkCompleted: 12.5%. Because the capacity of my flash drive is 960MB, I moved to the hard drive.

There is another problem with my computer, Mac_mini, which is not much different from a notebook PC; it uses 2.5\" HD. I\'m very anxious if it can stand to keep running for half a year. Even if \'dataout\' is moved to an external, easy to repair, 3.5\" HD, the internal HD can\'t stop, as long as the logging messages of the form:

sulphur_j5k1_000893665 - PH 1 TS 0090787 A - 02/03/1816 09:30 - H:M:S=0229:50:44 AVG= 9.11 DLT= 4.92

are written onto the system console.

I propose these messages would be written on a separete file and the filename is informed to us, so that we can watch the progress; Although I\'d say the present construction of the Mac version of sulphur422 is by no means appropriate for a tiny home computer.
