I have been unable to attach another computer for 10 days. When I try to attach by pasting the URL I get a \"temporarily down \" msg and I cant connect to the Http:/climateprediction.net link. Thanks DP |

No, the project isn\'t down. You should be able to attach to the project. For further informations how to get started feel free to have a look at: Getting started with climateprediction |

I am already using one computer and simply wish to attach another to CPDN but when I get the the Communicating with project screen The msg \"..project is temporarily unavailable Please try again. \" pops up. Its now over 10 days yet e@h, seti, and other dc projects on three other computers are OK. I cant attach to CPDN with any of them. I cant even connect to http://climateprdiction.net directly. ?? DP |

Hmm... that you can\'t reach the http://climateprediction.net site is odd. But maybe there is a solution to attach your other host to CPDN in a roundabout: 1. On the host that is already attached at CPDN navigate to the directory where you have installed BOINC in (usually C:\\Program Files\\BOINC\\). 2. Look for a file named: \'account_climateprediction.net.xml\'. 3. Copy this file to a removeable drive or a CDR. 4. On the host that you want to attach to CPDN exit BOINC and navigate to the directory where you have installed BOINC in. 5. Copy the file named \'account_climateprediction.net.xml\' from your removeable drive or CDR to the BOINC directory of this machine and make sure it isn\'t write protected after you have copied it. 6. Start BOINC again on this machine. If you are lucky you\'re now attached to CPDN at this machine. |

I have this problem. The weird this is that when I try to go to climateprediction.net I get \'the server is taking too long to respond\'. I was running this project earlier (for the past month) but BOINC messed up and deleted my projects so I wanted to start over, then I got this problem. |

The site that is down is at the Open University, Milton Keynes, not the Oxford Uni site. So we\'ll have to wait until the OU opens again on Monday. |

Les is absolutely right. Everthing running at Oxford is fine, and I will get in touch with OU by \'phone on monday if the site doesn\'t come back up by then. Meanwhile, if you\'re already attached then there now more workunits available. |
