Hello All, I am sure this is a FAQ, but I can\'t find enough of an answer in any of the FAQ\'s I read. I heard about climateprediction.net from the BBC project and I installed boince and just started playing with it and pointed it at climateprediction.net. I should have read a bit more first, but it seemed to take off on its own downloaded a sulphur cycle and started cranking away. After this I discovered that the Sulphur experiment has been going since August last year so I started wondering if this work is relevant any more. Then I noticed that every time my machine trickles up I get the message \"Note: not requesting new work or reporting results.\" Reading the wiki this seems to mean that either there is something wrong with my config or the work is not needed? Can anyone shed any light on this? (I run SuSE Linux 9.1, my system looks like it will complete in about 5 weeks) Philip |

Averaging around 4.2 sec/TS, your PC will finish the 5 phases in about 10 weeks if running 24x7. You\'ve had four trickles so far, and there are 120 total in the sulphur cycle run. The sulphur results are still valuable, and will be used when they are received. The \"Note: not requesting new work or reporting results.\" message is benign. I\'ve always gotten those since I started using 5.2.x versions of BOINC. I\'m not sure the wiki is up to date on that, or perhaps it means something in other projects, but not in cpdn. |
