Hi Guys Just working on the first two coupled models and I was wondering on what dates do the trickles occur. Slab and Sulpher were every 10,802 time steps. Is it the same with the new models? Thanks |

It\'s once per model year, which in the coupled model is 26,920 timesteps (72 timesteps per day) I'm a volunteer and my views are my own. News and Announcements and FAQ |

It\'s once per model year, which in the coupled model is 26,920 timesteps (72 timesteps per day) Thanks Mike It would be nice if they put the timestep in the graphic lie for the slab and sulpher models. But we can\'t have everthing right :) |

The timestep should be in the graphic. If not press \"Z\" to hide the side panel, and it give you more information like in the previous climateprediction.net models. Also, the trickle is uploaded at 0030 GMT on December 1st of each model year. |

It\'s once per model year, which in the coupled model is 26,920 timesteps (72 timesteps per day) Now I am a little bit confused about the trickeling... I am computing the coupled model (hadcm3lb 5.08) and it have computed about 1,5 years of the model time and get not any trickle jet. If I look at the screensaver, it show my about 6000 timesteps per model year and about 4147560 timesteps for the complete model. |

Dotsch Does your model say \"running\" under Status? If you right-click on the \'B\' icon in the bottom right corner of your screen, does it say \"Network activity suspended\", or one of the others? Among the messages in the Messages tab, are there lines about contacting the server, followed 3 lines later by a line ending in \"succeded\"? ************ Such as these: Sending scheduler request to http://climateapps3.atm.ox.ac.uk/hadam3_cgi/cgi Reason: To send trickle-up message Note: not requesting new work or reporting results Scheduler request to http://climateapps3.atm.ox.ac.uk/hadam3_cgi/cgi succeeded ************ |

Does your model say \"running\" under Status? My model is running. The network is set to always available. But the system is behind a router in a LAN, and the router is not always online.
Searched around in the stderrror and stdout files, and found no errors, or trickle requests. Only one trickle failure - but this was some seconds, before the actual model was downloaded. Btw. is the trickle a RPC to the scheduler, or a normal transfer like a WU or a result which is shown in the transfers tab of the boinc manager ? Is it posible to retricker the trickle manualy ? In the moment my model is on 25/05/1921 00:30 with 12529 of 4147560 timesteps, progress at 0.30 %. |

Trickles occur on the 1/12/ of model year. I\'m sure someone will correct me if this is wrong, but I think it is at the end of the day rather than the start. This is ever 0.625% of the model. Therefore from your status you are currently 1/2 way to your first trickle. Don\'t worry to much about this at the moment, just keep working away. P.S Also don\'t worry if you get credit for your trickle straight away after sending it up. The server suite at CPDN has been upgraded recently and is currently a little slow working through the backlog of trickles. Project staff have said that the situation will fix itself over the next week as the server catch up. |

Hm, but my model has now at about 1 1/2 years computed and is at 0.30 %. So my model should had trickled one times. So I am a little bit confused about the informations in the screensaver. My model shows about 8300 TS per model year. And it is after 1.5 years at 0.30 % with 12500 TS. With your calculations my model should be at 0.9 % at 1.5 years and trickled one time. |

Remember that the models actually start from end 1920/start 1921. So your model has crunched for about 6 months. Your first trickle should be on the 1/12/1921. I think this confusion is from the stated run times. ie model run from 1920 for 160 years to 2080. |

But the system is behind a router in a LAN, and the router is not always online. How do you attempt to contact the server? Connect your router, then click Update? Trickles don\'t show up in the Transfers tab. And the trickle_up_..... files will accumulate in the folder of the model. (Under the climateprediction.net folder) |

When this counts down to zero it writes from memory to your hard disc. This is the best time to exit your model (for backup etc) since at any other point if you clear your memory, eg when restarting your PC, you will lose a little crunch and have to redo that little on resume. |

Thanks for all that valuable information! One more question: Where can I see the trickles in the coupled model? It used to be available when I clicked the Result ID but with the coupled model I only receive a lot of data (that I don\'t understand) but no trickle information! How much credit is granted for each trickle? |

So, for instance, one of your model then has the url http://climateapps2.oucs.ox.ac.uk/cpdnboinc/result.php?resultid=5430459 instead of http://climateapps2.oucs.ox.ac.uk/cpdnboinc/graph_cm3.php?resultid=5430459 I think this information is quite valuable... (at least for me) ;-) |

By the way: I see you don\'t have any trickles so far. This might be up to your model (it simple didn\'t trickle). I hope everything is o.k. By the way II: I see we are in the same team ;-) Olles Guate weiterhin! (schlechtes Steirisch...) |

Anybody knows a similar trick for host results? It used to appear at the bottom of the page. Useful with concurrent models. And what about user with different computers? Forum search Site search |

They\'re no longer shown for host results. Carl removed them from here some time ago to relieve the load on the server. They might be back when the new trickle server gets installed, but I think that the staff level is currently one. :( (This will be the moving object buried under the pile of paper work which says: List of things to do urgently.) |

Thanks for all that valuable information! Herzlichen Dank! |
