I have two computers running CPDN under BOINC. One (windows) has been going for about a month, the other (linux) just a couple of days. If I look at my results page at: http://climateapps2.oucs.ox.ac.uk/cpdnboinc/results.php?userid=174 I can see many workunit results returned with client error. If I look at the dates associated with these I can see that they were sent and returned in error while other workunits were apparently in progress, running quite successfully on the very same computers. What is going on? Can someone explain this to me? Thanks, |

I can not see the link you provided it's in a private area. I would guess that you are attached to multiple copies of the project or that 2 BOINC processes are running. An extra BOINC process seems the most likely since that is known to cause workunits to corrupt.
John Keck -- BOINCing since 2002/12/08 -- |

When I installed 4.05, I installed to a different location than the earlier, beta version, which was consequently still lurking on the system. So I manually deleted the old version. Then, a little later, I got the fortran error reported several times elsewhere. I uninstalled 4.05 using add/remove program, but without detatching from the project, and re-installed again. However, the model was still producing multiple workunit errors (although no more fortran errors). At midnight it would download a model and a few minutes later send it back with an error and download another. It would do this repeatedly until the daily limit was reached. So now I have detatched and uninstalled. Tonight I will look for remnants and delete them, reboot and then reinstall. I'll see if that fixes things. |

Things now seem to be back to normal and crunching away. Thanks for the help. |

can you tell us what changed so that it is working? was it the "fortran namelist error" so a new workunit is running? thanks |
