I\'ve now been running the program for 56+ hrs.. CPU time, I\'m showing 226.8 Total Credits yet time to completion has only dropped from 2887 hrs. to 2884 hrs.. I look at the seconds ticking away on CPU time and am seeing on Time To Completion the seconds increasing and decreasing, but, never really getting anywhere just fluctuating around the same number. Why is this happening? Shouldn\'t there be a steady decrease in time to end that reflects somewhat the CPU usage? I\'ve been puzzling over this for some time now.

Since it takes so long to crunch one of these WUs, the time is going to fluctuate for a while. This happens because when you use the system, the project gets less CPU time (it runs in the lowest priority). So, as you watch and surf, and play games, and... the time adjusts a little each way.

It may take a week or so before it settles. Since the model is going to take 120-150 days, the time isn\'t a big factor after just a couple of days.

I have a machine that it will take nearly 280 days before it will complete. It took almost 2 weeks to settle and start almost always going down.

Ah, Thanks Pooh, I understand what\'s happening now. It\'s like a download manager trying to estimate download time of something big with variable bandwidth, it\'s all over the place to begin with then settles down half way through.
