I\'m running two models atm. One of them (hadcm3lbm_2v0f_05089644_0) exited with zero status yesterday. It started working again, however, so I didn\'t use my backup. This morning I had a series of Windows messages showing the Visual Fortran error and the message tab is now showing the ...if this happens repeatedly..... message five or six times.

I think it may be a similar problem to the looping models, as this WU is also type 5-08, as is my other WU. Should I delete this WU, ot try the backup? That is simply a copy of the BOINC folder taken late last night, so it also contains the other projects I\'m running (Malaria Control, Rosetta, Ralph, QMC & Einstein). I don\'t want to cause problems on those projects by going bacwards. Any help would be gratefully received/

Hi,

As long as the model date continues to increase, then there\'s no need to reset. I\'d let it run for a few days.

Thanks for your answer. I\'ll leave it alone for now and watch the dates.

i had the same problem with run time errors on both my models for the last 3 days... the problem now is that cpdn has closed completely (hasn\'t even any tasks left in the boinc manager)... updating the project didn\'t get me any new WUs either... so i\'m ousted completely

i might be wrong but i thought that the files for the models were quite large, but now i\'ve only 15.95 MB on my hard disk so i fear both my models are right into the drain

Looks like both your models crashed on the same day (the 1st), which hints that there may have been something which changed on your PC. This could be just about anything - installed anything recently? Or perhaps an automatic update.

It would be worthwhile taking a look at the topmost post in the Windows Q&A forum regarding -161 errors. I would also recommend taking a backup at intervals, I do it weekly. A backup allows you to resume running after a crash, using the backup.

I got one of these errors today FOR WU id 5335791. The model quit less than an hour later. The Results page wasn\'t much help, so I figured I\'d at least add what the error message said:

Visual Fortran runtime error

According to a post by Carl, pipe_dummy errors are usually hard disk problems. (Couldn\'t find Carl\'s post, but here\'s a reference to it:

Thanks astroWX, did some searching on the classic boards from your lead. Apparently this is a not so unusual error with the coupled model, but more likely anit-virus conflict with that particular file at that time. I\'ll strike it up to bad luck and see how the other models go.
