Just want to get an ideal of others processing times for hadcm3 WU. Mine expects around 3200 hrs. Think one of my other computers maybe 4500 hrs or more (little slower).
What are other processing times to completion that other getting (for normal single/dual processor CPU\'s). Please don\'t give me any super or 16 way CPU\'s, I would hate to hear someone only has 100 hours to process 1 wu. Thanks in advance.

A bit less than 2000 hours on an AMD 64 3500+ CPU, 1 GB of RAM, decent Asus Mainboard... seems to be a fairly stable estimate, therefore I think it\'s quite accurate although I\'m only about 100 hours into the WU.

Based on your s/ts speed (second per timestep), I think it\'ll take around 2200-2300 hours or so. The Boinc estimate is fairly unreliable, it\'s better to calculate it via the %complete versus the cpu time so far.

When I do that my old AMD Duron 1,8 GHz will use about 5150 hrs :-)
4,5s/Ts but anyway, nice to be in

Have a nice day

Last one I\'ve completed was about 1400 hours.
Prediciton for a new ones are about 1300 hours which is quite accurate.

Completion Times gets corrected once you finish some models.
But method suggested by Mike are most accurate.

> The ones I had on my AMD Opteron 275 (2.2 GHz) said 1170 hours.
After 1700 hours with 400 to go, one WU crashed and in trying to get it to restart again I lost Boinc and the other WU at 1100 hours with about 800 to go.
Both the new WU\'s say 1170 hours.

On my AMD Opteron 285 (2.6 GHz) completion time is 990 hours, after 340 hours one WU is 16% done (340 is not 16% of 990, so the WU will go much longer).

Hopefully I will be able to see these ones through to completion.

It may be worthwhile taking backups of the models at intervals, so that if one does crash, you can restore from the backup. There are several ideas in this post: http://www.climateprediction.net/board/viewtopic.php?t=5895
