Hi, i am currently working on a project about this model, and was wondering if anyone could help.
I have become stuck on the following question:
1. How well does the model represent coastlines, for example the Indonesian Archipelago. The model doesn\'t seem to show a distinct boundary that i expected between the ocean/land interface.
Can any one help in explaining this to me.

I\'m not sure that the model has a high enough resolution for such detailed local predictions.

The coastlines are drawn/obtained from various maps, and are probably not highly detailed in places.
But the images are just a guide to the location of various \'weather systems\' at a given instant. They aren\'t part of the modelling process, just \"eye candy\" for participants.

Nor do the images of the coastlines change with changing tide/ocean levels produced by the models.

As the others have said, it is a resolution issue. To see what area is land vs. what is ocean in the model, view the Ocean temperatures (O when viewing the globe). It will show as black what the model considers to be land.
