I caught the messages below today: Eventually the upload finished successfully, but the error message seemed to indicate a problem on the server. 12/21/2006 4:46:16 PM|climateprediction.net|Error on file upload: can\'t write file /cpdn/boinc/hadcm3lbm_8oxw_25174839_0_5.zip: No space left on device 12/21/2006 4:46:16 PM|climateprediction.net|Temporarily failed upload of hadcm3lbm_8oxw_25174839_0_5.zip: transient upload error 12/21/2006 4:46:17 PM|climateprediction.net|Started upload of file hadcm3lbm_8oxw_25174839_0_5.zip 12/21/2006 4:53:19 PM|climateprediction.net|Finished upload of file hadcm3lbm_8oxw_25174839_0_5.zip 12/21/2006 4:53:19 PM|climateprediction.net|Throughput 12311 bytes/sec |

Trickles are locked to a particular server. If the server is down, its a matter of waiting until it\'s online again. 10-year uploads, though, are different. Carl structured them to use the three available servers dedicated to that purpose; two are in England, one in Switzerland. (They\'re not associated with Trickles.) If an upload fails on one, boinc will try another. This is what you experienced with your second-try success. Messages don\'t indicate why the upload succeeded on second try, but the \"fall back\" programmed into the uploads did the trick.
