I turned on model recording. Is there any way to turn it off, or at least be able to tell if recording has been turned off? Also, can I delete the recorded data files? The reason I ask is that right now, Climate Prediction takes up over 1.5G on my computer. I\'m starting to approach my storage limit.

I tried to find info on the FAQ and in message boards, but couldn\'t. Just a link to a related post would be great!

Thanks,

Chris

I think that <control Q> both starts it and stops it.
There is supposed to be a message on the screen saying that recording is active.

I\'m not sure where the files are, or their names, but someone should be along who does know. As a guess, look for a tmp directory (under BOINC), with lots of files ending in .cpdn

OK
I\'ve just backed up my models, shut down, blown the dust out of the heat sink, and started up again.

The commands for recording/display are in the builtin help file:
H, then -> (for 2nd page)

<Control Q> IS a toggle to start/stop. The \"recording\" message is immediately above \"Atmos model time\" in the gaphics window, as is \"playback...\", which is also a toggle, and appears to be a loop of the recordings.

The files are in:
C:\\Program Files\\BOINC\\projects\\climateprediction.net\\hadcm3ohb_<model name>\\tmp
and look like: <model name> <long number string> .cpdn
They are 151KB.

(<long number string> would be a timestamp for each file)

Thanks a ton. One last question...Can I just delete everything in the tmp folder, or will that wreck something?

Only the \'.cpdn\' files.
Hands off the other 4!
