Hi all,

I\'m a newbie in this game so if this seems like a dumb question then sorry. In my boinc manager (under the tasks tab) i have a list of projects. The first is hadcm3pbb_bp4z_05819870. Beneath this is hadcm3pbb__bfi9_05807073. Does this mean that I am running two projects simletaneously? If so how do I stop one (already tried abort but keep atomatically downloading a new project). If it\'s not two projects, what does this \'second line\' mean?

You have either a dual_core, or an HT processor. You also have your preferences set to use 2 processors.
So BOINC is just doing it\'s job of keeping both processors in work.

The first thing to do if you only want to run one model at a time, is to go to the Projects tab of your Manager, click on the project name, and then click the button which says \"No new tasks\".

The next thing to do is to go to the General preferences page on your Account page, and edit it to be 1 processor.
After you\'ve clicked on Update there, go to the Projects tab again, and click the Update button there.
Next abort the unwanted model.
Then you\'ll be running one model, and only using half of your computer.

Hint.
The correct term for things listed under the Tasks tab is \"work units (WUs)\", or \"models\". Calling them projects will confuse people, who may well think that you\'re talking about the 30 or so projects such as SETI that have nothing to do with climate modelling. \"Projects\" are what is listed under the Projects tab.

I had the same problem. It would keep download so many tasks. I set SETI to 2 processor insted of the default 16 lol.

It is a HT processor not a true Dual Core, but it works well to run 1 seti and 1 CPDN. The laptop I have running seti only since the work loads are so fast and not as large.

I get 1 workload for CPDN, but wish they had settigns to inforce 1 work load at a time so it won\'t try to retrieve more. Right now it is et not to retirve more since It will be liek 122 dyas till it\'s complete.

I am running two CPDN work units and one SETI and there is no problem: once an hour two out of three get shifted. But I do have this problem which sofar no one has solved: a hundred times a day I get the CPDN message: Scheduler request failed: HTTP internal server error. Is this going to resolve itself some day?

Scott, to avoid getting models you don\'t want, in the Projects tab of boinc manager you should highlight the cpdn or BBC/CCE project and click the No new work button, once only. In the last section of the README about Running the model there\'s an item about this called \'No new models please! I have enough!\'

Bellator, your problem hasn\'t been forgotten. To avoid these constant messages you could suspend network activity as much as possible for the time being, except when your other project needs it.
