You\'re taking a set of values for a lot of variables affecting climate, and feeding them into a climate modelling program, to create a 3D image of the Earth\'s ocean and atmosphere for a period of 160 years. Ten\'s of thousands of these models, each with different starting values, will be used to give an idea of how each change of value, of each variable, affects the created climate model. There\'s lots more, some in detail, here. The most useful will probably be in the \"Experiment Strategy\" section. |

Hi Rico Your computer has for some reason downloaded 4 climate models, whereas the most you should have is two, one for each core of the computer. If all four show in your boinc manager, you should select the two that have made least progress then click Abort. On the other cpdn forum in the News and Announcements section you\'ll find 4 READMEs about how to look after the models on your computer: http://www.climateprediction.net/board/index.php In the Running the model README, I\'d recommend reading the top tips. And in the one about avoiding crashes, the essential reading is * item #1 by Les about how to back up the whole boinc folder * item #5 by Mike about avoiding the common pitfalls The News thread over there is the one place where you\'ll find all the project news in a single thread.
