Before one of my workunits has complete calculating, it crushed several times. BOINC reported this as error to the server. After restoring from a backup, the calculation continued. However, when the calculation was completed fully, server result refused because there have been errors. Imho this behavior strange. I now banned network activity, for all of its clients, but will allow it sometimes manually by checking that no crushes. |

The \'result refused\' message only applies to other DC projects, which have quorums for work units. This project ignores the message, and the data will be/has been accepted. |

Les Bayliss The \'result refused\' message only applies to other DC projects, which have quorums for work units. Strange, but in my Results page, model displayed as error, not as complete: Now i use simplest .cmd script and several tools, for automatically backup. It placed here. I think of a more advanced system backup, which would restore the crushed model automatically, from the archive created about two days ago. Strathpeffer Pavilion

Yes, the website will display the error text and status from the first time the model reported. But the science uploaded, graph, and credit will all be from everything uploaded (even after the crash was reported). So from the project viewpoint, credit viewpoint and the mod\'s viewpoint, it was a successful model. My own model is exactly the same as yours (all science data is uploaded, but the displayed status is still error). I'm a volunteer and my views are my own. News and Announcements and FAQ |

I\'m pleased to have found this thread. I felt crushed when I got a \"Completed task not accepted.....error...\" message. Finding this thread has cheered me up again. I now know that the last few months on BOINC Climateprediction have not been wasted! Is there any way of automatically directing a user to this thread when the dreaded message appears? |

Congratulations on finishing one of these long models. The \"rejected\" message is talked about in several places, most of them in a more appropiate area than this wish list. The problem is that people don\'t read the messages on any of the boards (about anything), until they have a problem, and then they panic first, and read second. A few just get angry and post a vitriolic message about how terrible the project is and then never return. One of the places this message is answered is in the README files, which are here. (the one on Backup and Restore) There are lots of other hints and tips in them as well. And then there is the News and Announcements thread at the top of this board. There are now shorter models available, as announced in the above mentioned News section, which also details how to select one. Backups: Here |

Hello, David - if you\'re still around, I think my earlier message to Alpet applies to you too! Welcome to the forum and congrats on completing a model, which also seems to have been restored from backup - so doubly well done. Here are some fireworks to cheer you up even further ... ... and happy continued crunching! Regards, MM @ the Pavilion Visit the Scotland team |
