Hi, everyone. I was wondering if there is any way to return an unneeded WU. I accidentally downloaded a second climateprediction WU due to a model crash. The manager automatically downloaded a replacement for the crashed unit. (I forgot to click “no new tasks.”)

The problem is that I didn’t need the new WU because I had a backup copy for the first WU and was able to restore it. I now have the second WU stored as a backup copy. Is there some way that I can return it so that someone else can run it? If I restored it and then aborted it would BOINC then give it to someone else?

I ask because at the rate the work is going the first WU won’t be finished for 4 or 5 months yet.

The correct way to \'return\' it is to Abort it.
This will get reported to the server on the next contact by the running WU.
