I haven\'t received any credits since 15/06 although trickles have been uploaded. Any updates about this? |

See the \'news\' thread here: http://www.climateprediction.net/board/viewforum.php?f=36 Hopefully tomorrow night the credit process will catch up (and external stats sites the day after). I'm a volunteer and my views are my own. News and Announcements and FAQ |

the trickles should be catching up (as well as the credits) -- we were down about 5 days doing database server upgrades and maintenance, and had a little glitch restoring the backups which should be all sorted now. |

Wondering if anyone could help me... The db servers are all supposed to be back up and working now. So why when I do an \'update\' on cpdn in BOINC, do I still get this: 29/06/2007 12:28:01 AM|climateprediction.net|Fetching scheduler list 29/06/2007 12:28:06 AM|climateprediction.net|Deferring communication for 1 days 0 hr 0 min 0 sec 29/06/2007 12:28:06 AM|climateprediction.net|Reason: 8 consecutive failures fetching scheduler list I have two machines working on this project - the one I\'m having problems with and a remote machine that I only rarely have physical access to. It seems that the remote machine is updating as normal, because I can see it\'s last contact was today (on the cpdn website). But try as I might, I can\'t seem to get the client on this machine to update my stats and send trickle ups that have accumulated since 20 June when the servers went down. Any help would be appreciated. |

It sounds somewhat like a firewall or proxy issue. What\'s your network setup like? (i.e., are you connecting from a work/university/etc PC, or is it a home PC on dialup/broadband/etc?). What firewall do you use? Do you use a proxy server? What other messages do you get in the \'messages\' log when you press update? (i.e., the lines following and preceeding the ones you\'ve included). Have you tried rebooting the PC? I'm a volunteer and my views are my own. News and Announcements and FAQ |

Or a caching of server issue. I am unsure what might have changed at CPDN when they updated, but IPs can change a lot, and sometimes some systems cache things for too long. My suggestion is stopping BOINC, restart. If that does not work, stop, reboot, allow it to restart. This usually fixes those errors. |

It\'s a normal computer attached directly to the net - no proxy. The built in windows firewall is on, but that hasn\'t caused problems in the past. The PC is rebooted several times a day since it\'s my workhorse PC. I think it must be that the db server IP changed or something and that hasn\'t been reflected in DNS yet. It started doing this when the servers went down on 20 June and has done it ever since (9 days and counting now). I just restarted BOINC now and performed another \'update\' - same result: 29/06/2007 9:27:22 AM||Starting BOINC client version 5.8.16 for windows_intelx86 29/06/2007 9:27:22 AM||log flags: task, file_xfer, sched_ops 29/06/2007 9:27:22 AM||Libraries: libcurl/7.16.0 OpenSSL/0.9.8a zlib/1.2.3 29/06/2007 9:27:22 AM||Data directory: C:\\Program Files\\BOINC 29/06/2007 9:27:22 AM||Processor: 2 GenuineIntel Intel(R) Core(TM)2 CPU T7400 @ 2.16GHz [x86 Family 6 Model 15 Stepping 6] [fpu tsc pae nx sse sse2 mmx] 29/06/2007 9:27:22 AM||Memory: 2.00 GB physical, 4.85 GB virtual 29/06/2007 9:27:22 AM||Disk: 43.95 GB total, 27.41 GB free 29/06/2007 9:27:22 AM|climateprediction.net|URL: http://climateprediction.net/; Computer ID: 675150; location: work; project prefs: default 29/06/2007 9:27:22 AM||General prefs: from climateprediction.net (last modified 2007-05-22 16:10:23) 29/06/2007 9:27:22 AM||Host location: work 29/06/2007 9:27:22 AM||General prefs: no separate prefs for work; using your defaults 29/06/2007 9:27:22 AM|climateprediction.net|Restarting task hadcm3inct_cmjg_1920_160_25869416_1 using hadcm3i version 540 29/06/2007 9:27:22 AM|climateprediction.net|Restarting task hadcm3inct_ckv0_1920_160_25867240_0 using hadcm3i version 540 29/06/2007 9:27:37 AM|climateprediction.net|Fetching scheduler list 29/06/2007 9:27:42 AM|climateprediction.net|Deferring communication for 1 days 0 hr 0 min 0 sec 29/06/2007 9:27:42 AM|climateprediction.net|Reason: 9 consecutive failures fetching scheduler list I\'m hoping if I just leave it, it will resolve itself (the remote machine seems to have...). |

An idea would be open a command window. Type in: ping climateapps2.oucs.ox.ac.uk - get and answer? If not then: nslookup climateapps2.oucs.ox.ac.uk - Should see several adresses tracert climateapps2.oucs.ox.ac.uk - Does it make it all the way there? If these do not make it there, then maybe your ISP is not updating itself to the new DNS settings. Just some things to try. |

This host of mine has not had any contact with the server since 15/06 either. I figured it was because of me running a 64 bit client but thought I would post here since the dates matched. FYI I\'ve been running two models since then but not received any credits for them. This is the message I get every time my client wants to send trickles:
Hopefully by the time the WUs are done the servers will be able to accept the results. |

If you install the 32-bit Boinc 5.10.20 that should resolve the problem. I'm a volunteer and my views are my own. News and Announcements and FAQ |
