I would be very grateful if you could deduct 3,472.64 credits from my account, please - it\'s against my strategy :)

You\'re just going to have to go to 200,000

Have a look at the News thread at the top of the Number Crunching section and you\'ll see why the extra credits were given. Nobody\'s cheating - it\'s just so that all cpdn crunchers get approximately the same amount of credit whichever type of models they run.

Jamin is referring to the fact that he\'s trying to get all his projects credit up to exactly 100,000, and now he\'s overshot on CPDN ...

Mike\'s right - it\'s just a matter of a small update on your database, isn\'t it?
You can give out those credits in some contest or whatnot :)

I\'m sorry to say that - but I don\'t need them ;)

I know some projects have given away small amounts of credit as a prize eg for designing new project graphics. I think Cori won some. The programmers attached a project computer to her account for maybe 3 months. But that\'s not the same as giving away credits you already have.

I wouldn\'t want to ask our (only two) programmers. One is away at a boinc conference in Geneva. When he returns, I think the other is going away. They are just so busy all the time. I don\'t think they\'d want to do it. In fact, I don\'t think they\'d ever want to manipulate credits at all.

I also think it might be quite complicated. The credits system isn\'t designed to be manipulated.

Not as easy to do as to just remove you from the database. :)

!!!!!

Also, the server recalculates the credits for a model every time the computer trickles. If you manually deducted the credits, I think the server would add them again automatically at the next trickle.

Or you\'d probably need to write some extra code to make the server apply a different credit multiplier number (the previous number, 20% less) just to your account. Milo and Tolu won\'t do this.

alright, alright - I was only asking ;) I don\'t want to know how hard it is to do something :) got this on daily basis in my work.

If
The credits system isn\'t designed to be manipulated
why are you manipulating it? ;) I was pretty happy with what I got some days ago.

Guess I could live with overshot account - it\'s not a matter of life or death :D

But if you - by any chance - find an easy way (let\'s say - 0.001 of programmer to do this) to get my account to 100k I will be very grateful.

Jamin, if the programmers ever ask whether anyone would like to give away some credits to a particularly deserving cruncher, we promise to nominate you.

By the way, how did Mike know about your strategy? You must have posted about this on another forum.

<Puts on deerstalker hat and lights pipe>

Merely a process of logical deduction...

I thought, why on earth would someone want to have points deducted? So I had a look at the other projects list, and there were a bunch at 100,000. Elementary, Dr Watson :-)

Gentlemen - thank you very much for the discussion.

mo.v - you can take away those 3472 anytime :) and I\'m not a kind of mental exhibitionist to post my \"strategy\" over the forums just to let everybody knows(ok - maybe one forum but this one is in Polish) ;)

Mike - thanks for the explanation ;)
