Hi, everyone... I\'m running Windows XP (32-bit) on an Athlon 64 with a gig of RAM. I\'m not short on horsepower or RAM, so why is it that I keep getting fortran errors? It\'s only started since I upgraded to this new machine. Is there something about an AMD64 that CPDN doesn\'t like? Is there any way to fix it?

CPDN is just as happy with AMD as with Intel.

The first model to crash went down with a 107 error and the other two with a 22 error code. 107 usually means a graphics problem on your computer, probably not hardware-related. 22 can mean a flaw in the model, but there\'s nothing on the results pages to suggest that in the case of your two models, so it\'s likely to be something that happened on your computer. It\'s a non-specific code similar to the old 161 code.

What to do? Disable the screensaver if you haven\'t already and use the graphics button in boinc manager instead.

In the one about Avoiding model crashes, go to item #5 by Mike who outlines all the common pitfalls. Then item #6 by Thyme Lawn who explains how to update your graphics card driver, free of charge from the manufacturer on the web. Even a new graphics card may need an update.

Then look at the README about backing up the contents of the boinc folder. Restoring a backup is the only way to continue crunching a crashed model. There\'s a choice of methods; I use Les\'s easy manual method a couple of times each week, more often on the old computer which is very flaky.
