It\'s a lot shorter than the 160-year coupled models, those take around 2500 hours on a AMD 64, or 1800 on a Core2Duo. Some people also ran 200-year models (\'spinup\') which took that much longer. There are currently 3 types of model you can chose between: HadCM3 - 80 or 160 year coupled model, takes 1800-2500 hours for 160 years HadSM3 - 72 year slab model, takes around 1/6th the time of a 160 year coupled model HadAM3 - 1 year atmosphere model, takes slightly longer than a slab model, but needs lots of memory I'm a volunteer and my views are my own. Before you reach the end of this model, select the type you want next time in your CPDN project preferences in your account. Cpdn news |
