Hi guys, For some reason my BOINC Manager for CPDN is only running 1 task. I have a dual core cpu and preferences are set so that it can use both cores to 100% which it has done in the past when running two tasks. Suddenly though its decided to only give me one task and thus is only utilising 1 core leaving a core idle. Why is this and how can I get it to assign me another task? |

Hi guys, Your computers are hidden, so we can only hazard a guess. It may be that one of your other preferences (or one of BOINC\'s default preferences) is limiting your machine in some other way. Maybe you haven\'t got enough RAM to run two models, or enough spare disk space. Have a look at the first few messages when BOINC starts up - that should give some clues. |

The other thing to confirm is that the operating system is allowing you to use both processors. Sometimes the Bios needs to be updated, or a new HAL installed. If you look at that computer\'s \'Computer Summary\' on this website, what does it show for \'number of CPUs\'? I'm a volunteer and my views are my own. News and Announcements and FAQ |
