http://climateapps2.oucs.ox.ac.uk/cpdnboinc/workunit.php?wuid=6077074 The website isn\'t showing any trickles from my computer (733648) since Sept. 07. So am I wasting my time? Also, http://climateapps2.oucs.ox.ac.uk/cpdnboinc/workunit.php?wuid=6085359 won\'t finish in time. It will be off by 2 or 3 week so will science still be gained from it? |

Answering on the second one only, the science will be good. This project ignores the due date. As for the first one, is the time still going forward? What does the graphic look like? |

This is the result in question: http://climateapps2.oucs.ox.ac.uk/cpdnboinc/result.php?resultid=6724976 When you are looking at the graphics to answer Pooh Bear\'s question, could you take a look at the temperature display (\'T\'). I'm a volunteer and my views are my own. News and Announcements and FAQ |

Not much can be done about \"icy worlds\" other than to put them out of their misery. A few are \"fast processing\" and will soon self destruct. Most are \"slow processing\" and will destruct only after an interminable process. If it were mine, and the Time Step interval was abnormal, I\'d ax it and get another. Edit: Nice to see that you\'ve stayed with the Project \"through thick and thin\" all this time. Congratulations for a job well done! Might as well use this thread. Could some one look at this WU resultid=6502874 hostid=592929, at this end every thing is OK, trickles are normal but the WU has still been marked \"No Reply\" is it due to the due date? and should i continue? Regards Masud. |

It\'s fine. The work units are created with a deadline, but it\'s actually ignored on this project. The trickles will continue to be accepted and credits awarded. |

Thank you. With all the dedication, commitment and not to forget tender loving care these 160 year model need, i wish they could at least improve the nomenclature :( i know some thing to do with Boinc code. The admin of CPDN should have a brainstorming session with Doctor Anderson. Sorry for the late reply, still having problems navigating these forums. Regards Masud. |

The problem is that CPDN is as far as I know the only project that accepts tasks after their deadline. So the nomenclature and task classifications were all designed by BOINC for the other projects. The system doesn\'t work well for CPDN eg sometimes crashed tasks are classified with the word \'Success\', and there are other anomalies. I don\'t know whether this is the fault of BOINC or whether CPDN should ideally select different BOINC code options, or CPDN should rewrite part of the code. I agree that we should investigate this. KAMasud, your model is probably the only task in the workunit that will complete, so it\'s well worth continuing. Models downloaded more recently have longer deadlines in order to avoid these misleading messages and classifications. http://climateapps2.oucs.ox.ac.uk/cpdnboinc/workunit.php?wuid=6032266 Cpdn news |
