The Web site documentation relates to all 4 of the current projects: Climate Prediction.net LHC@Home Predictor@Home Seti@Home The examples are not from all projects, changing a project to a new version should allow you to enter one project and stick with it through all subsequent pages. Unless, of course, you change the project ... The icons have been changed (again, sorry ...) to be more consistent and hopefully reflect better my intent. If they don\'t I am open to better ideas... The conversion is not done. I have only about 30 pages converted (with 43 to go) ... I also do not have all of the links fixed (400+ are broken out of 10,000) either. But I thought I would go ahead and post the work in progress. I seem to be about to work most days now, so, I will be posting pages as I get them done and as I find errors and so forth. The plan for the next couple weeks is to finish the base conversions, clean up many of the notes I have made about one problem or another and continue the work of extending the documentation. I don\'t mind feedback, either positive or negative. However, my reaction may or may not strike you as appropriate. Especially if you hit me in the funny bone (or what I use as an excuse for one). :) Anyway, this allows you folks to see the changes and comment on them as I get them done. As of now, I am running all 4 models so I will be trying to add content as I learn about the processing ... |

Thanks a lot Paul, i was reffering to your excelent site later yesterday night but haven't been able to put the obvious together - too tired i guess. One should better not post when really tired... > Hi Paul, > > excuse my ignorancy but i don't get it - is there a link to mentined web-site? Yes, I forgot that I don't have signatures on all the projects yet. I hopefully will get that done this week (and documnet it for all projects)... The "best" way in is through the index page... and a few of my friends have links in the messages. I also have entry links on SETI@Home and Predictor@Home that gets you into the stuff... Last time I added it up I was in the neighborhood of 250 pages covering FAQs Web site documentation, index and glossary, plus owner's manual for the application (which will get much needed update pictures when I get back to it) ... Sorry for the lack, I spaced out ... As part of an "unofficial" effort to document the SETI@Home Powered by BOINC, the following documents have been written to aid you in the use of SETI@Home Powered by BOINC: <a href="http://homepage.mac.com/pauldbuck/index.html">Documentation Menu</a> (pdb) <a href="http://users.iafrica.com/c/ch/chrissu/boinc-README.html">Release Notes</a> = <a href="http://users.iafrica.com/c/ch/chrissu/boinc-README.html"><img height="16" src="http://homepage.mac.com/pauldbuck/_icons/read-me.gif" /></a> (by Chris Sutton) <a href="http://homepage.mac.com/pauldbuck/site-boinc/faq/faq-over.html">BOINC FAQ</a> = <a href="http://homepage.mac.com/pauldbuck/site-boinc/faq/faq-over.html"><img height="16" src="http://homepage.mac.com/pauldbuck/_icons/boinc-faq.gif" /></a>(pdb) <a href="http://homepage.mac.com/pauldbuck/site-boinc/oman-app/app-over.html">BOINC Owner's Manual</a> = <a href="http://homepage.mac.com/pauldbuck/site-boinc/oman-app/app-over.html"><img height="16" src="http://homepage.mac.com/pauldbuck/_icons/boinc-icon.gif" /></a> (pdb) <a href="http://homepage.mac.com/pauldbuck/site-seti/oman-web/web-over.html">SETI@Home Web Site Owner's Manual</a> = <a href="http://homepage.mac.com/pauldbuck/site-seti/oman-web/web-over.html"><img height="16" src="http://homepage.mac.com/pauldbuck/_icons/seti-web-doc.gif" /></a> (pdb) <a href="http://homepage.mac.com/pauldbuck/site-seti/faq/faq-over.html">SETI FAQ</a> = <a href="http://homepage.mac.com/pauldbuck/site-seti/faq/faq-over.html"><img height="16" src="http://homepage.mac.com/pauldbuck/_icons/seti-faq.gif" /></a> (pdb) Click on the icons ... they are part of the change-over work I am doing ... If I make a mistake or miss something, pop me an <a href="mailto:p.d.buck@comcast.net">e-mail</a> would you please? <a href="mailto:p.d.buck@comcast.net"><img src="http://homepage.mac.com/pauldbuck/_icons/mail.gif" /></a> Thanks! > any change of having complete list of error codes (with brief explanation) I know it's not what you're looking for, Honza, but the BOINC error codes are listed <a href="http://boinc.berkeley.edu/error_numbers.h">here</a>. Anybody with a background in software should find most of the names reasonably self explanatory. <a href="http://www.teampicard.net"><img src="http://www.teampicard.net/templates/fisubice/images/phpbb2_logo.jpg"></a><a href="http://climateapps2.oucs.ox.ac.uk/cpdnboinc/team_display.php?teamid=3">Join us here</a> |

This may be something that we will see "fixed" at a later date. This is one of those topics where I have issues with the "light" software development concepts as this is the sort of thing that should be develped and documented. Clear explanations about the states and the transisitions between them are also light ... The good news is that there is more documentation building up on the BOINC site and that is an encourraging sign. By the way, digressing, my site is down ... Murphy is alive and well! |
